RAMMap is an app that shows you exactly how your operating system allocates physical memory, as well as how much RAM is being used by the kernel or the drivers of the different devices connected to your PC. This software, which is smaller than 500KB and requires no installation, can greatly help you in managing your computer's RAM.

Different tabs with different data views

The first thing you see when you open RAMMap is the Use Counts tab, which provides a summary of memory usage sorted by type. However, there are many other tabs at your disposal, with a lot more information. The remaining tabs include: Processes, Priority Summary, Physical Pages, Physical Ranges, File Summary and File Details. Each tab can be sorted to your liking. From the Options menu, you can also change the colors of each view. This makes it much easier to see how you are using your PC's RAM at a glance.

Quickly free up memory

It is important to bear in mind that RAMMap won't tell you what you should or should not do at any time. It is entirely up to you whether you want to act on the information displayed by the app. However, by correctly interpreting the information provided by the program, you can free up RAM reserved by some apps that you are not using. Simply use the Empty tool to do this with a single click. This way you are sure to see an improvement in the overall performance of your PC.

The best way to understand your PC's memory

Download RAMMap if you want to find out how your PC is using its RAM to try to optimize its performance. This light and easy-to-use program can be downloaded and unzipped in a folder, ready to run at any time.
